Joseph Jude DeFelice, Esq. was born and raised in the Mayfair Section of Northeast Philadelphia. He attended St Matthew Grade School before moving on to Father Judge High School where he served as President of the Student Council and Captain of the Football team. 

      After High School, Joe moved on to Albright College in Reading, PA before transferring back home to LaSalle University. While at LaSalle, Joe was a founding father of the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, Producer and host of “Philly Sports Page” on Comcast Channel 56 and a three-year starter and two-year team captain on the University’s varsity football team. At LaSalle, Joe made athletic honor roll every semester and was also named to the MAAC Conference All Academic team as well as taking Second Team Academic All-District on the All-American Ballot. 

      Joe graduated from LaSalle with a BA in Political Science and enrolled at the Widener University School of Law. At Widener, he continued his employment with the Pennsylvania Speaker of the house while also interning at the PA Attorney General’s Office.

      After graduating from Widener, Joe was admitted to both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars. Professionally, Joe is a practicing attorney who has served  as an Adjunct Professor of American Government at both LaSalle and Widener Universities.

     Outside of work experience, Joe is also involved in numerous civic and political endeavors. Joe served as longtime President of the Mayfair Civic Association and is currently the group's Legal Counsel. Joe also serves Chairman of the Mayfair Community Development Corporation and a Board Member of the Mayfair Business Association.  He helped found the Mayfair Memorial Playground, the Mayfair Farmers Market, the Mayfair Fallen Heroes Run, the Mayfair May Fair, the Mayfair 3rd Thursday, the Mayfair Oktoberfest, the Mayfair Business Improvement District Steering Committee, etc.  He is also past Vice-President of the Lombardi, Montemuro, Allesandroni Lodge of the Sons of Italy.  He is also a Board Member of the Friends of the Free Library of Philadelphia.  He is also a past Board Member of the LaSalle University Alumni Board of Directors as well as yearly participant in the Philadelphia Mummers Parade with the James “Froggy” Carr Wench Brigade.  

     Professionally Joe has been honored by PoliticsPA as one of the top 20 political operatives in the State, the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity as one of the National 40 under 40,  Super Lawyers Magazine as one of their Rising Stars in 2014 and 2015 and several other honors.

    Joe resides in Mayfair with his wife Rosemarie (McConomy) DeFelice, an English teacher at the Philadelphia Electrical and Technology Charter High School and his two sons Joseph Jude DeFelice, Jr. and Christian Gerard DeFelice.
